Market intelligence firm International Data Corporation (IDC) has released the top 5 smartphone company in the Philippines for Q1 2022. realme tops the ranking with a 20.2 percent unit market share in the country.
Based on the IDC report issued on June 1, shipments for smartphones in the Philippines in Q1 2022 declined by 7.1% year-on-year and 21.6% quarter-on-quarter.

Chinese mobile brands dominated the top 5, with realme maintaining the number one position for the fifth consecutive quarter with a 20.2 percent share of the Philippine smartphone market.
Transsion, another Chinese company, produces phones under the Tecno and Infinix brands and accounts for 19.8 percent of the market share.
Samsung ranked third with 16.8 percent of the market share. IDC highlighted the company’s presence in both the low-cost and premium tiers. “The new A-series drove its ultra low-end (less than USD 100) shipments by 89.3% quarter-on-quarter, while its Galaxy S22 series drove the growth of its USD 600+ price segment by 45% quarter-on-quarter,” the company said.
Xiaomi and OPPO earned the fourth and fifth positions, with 14.2 percent and 11.2 percent market share, respectively. In Xiaomi’s lineup, notable devices include the Redmi 10C, Redmi Note 11, and Xiaomi 12 series. Meanwhile, OPPO’s shipments of devices priced between USD 100 and USD 200 were cut in half due to a severe shortage of supplies. The Reno 7 series has helped the company establish a foothold in the 5G market.
