Rules of Survival (RoS) ceased operations on June 27, 2022, more than four years since its launch in May 2018.
The free-to-play battle royale game will officially close its servers on June 27, 2022, at 3 PM Philippine time. News about the RoS shutdown came in April when the developers NetEase Games announced its plans to retire the game.
Meanwhile, players who still have diamonds in their accounts can apply for a refund from June 28 to September 28, 2022.
Rules of Survival was initially launched on May 31, 2018, on PC via the Steam platform and was followed by a release on mobile devices, including Android and iOS. The release of the game coincided with the popularity surge of battle royale games.
In terms of gameplay, RoS, like any other battle royale game, follows the standard form, where players fight in a shrinking zone to become the last person (or team) alive.
It features different modes: Solo, Duo, Squad (four players), or a Fireteam (five players). Meanwhile, the two playable maps include Ghillie Island (120 players, 4.8 km x 4.8 km) and Fearless Fiord (300 players, 8 km x 8 km).
Besides the abovementioned game modes, RoS also has different game modes, such as the Gold Mode, in which the player can earn gold, and the Diamond Mode, in which players may earn diamonds throughout the match.
Given that the battle royal shooter game has continued to receive updates like Rules of Survival 2.0 and new seasons, it is unexpected that Rules of Survival will be discontinued.
