Garena and Level Infinite have announced the Group Stage draw results for the Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2022.
Top 16 teams across ten regions will gather at the virtual AIC arena to compete for the championship title and the largest slice of the USD 2 million prize pool.
Results of the Group Stage draw
From June 16 to 19, the 16 teams from 10 regions will face off against their toughest opponents in the Group Stage. Fans and players can anticipate an exciting viewing experience as teams demonstrate their finest abilities and strategies while climbing the championship ladder.

AIC 2022 Tournament format
The Group Stage of the AIC 2022 will be divided into two phases, with all matches being played in a single round-robin format. On June 16 and 17, the first phase of the Group Stage will consist of Best-of-1 (BO1) games, with the top three teams in each group advancing to the second phase.
On June 18 and 19, Phase 2 will be played, with the top teams from each group advancing to the playoffs. In the second phase, matches will be played in a Best-of-2 (BO2) format, where a 2-0 victory will earn the winning team 3 points and the losing team 0 points. Each team will receive 1 point for a tie. In addition, the global ban pick rules will be implemented to improve the strategy and pick diversity of teams.
The playoffs will consist of the Quarter Finals (June 23 to 26) and Semifinals (July 2 to 3). In the first round of the Quarter Finals, the top four teams from each Group Stage group will be divided into four separate matchups. The draw for the Quarterfinals will pit them against the teams with the second-most points in each group from the Group Stage. The format of the competition is double elimination. The losing teams will play against other losing teams in the loser bracket. The first round of the Quarterfinals will be played using the Best-of-5 format, while subsequent rounds will utilize the Best-of-7 format. On July 10, the top two surviving teams will compete for the overall championship title in the Grand Final.

This year’s AIC 2022 theme, “New Rivals, New Honor,” encapsulates the increasing rivalry within the AoV community as more young teams from new regions enter the battlefield to compete for the ultimate honor.
