The Wild Rift Icons Global Championship 2022, featuring USD 2 million prize pool, is set to take place from June 14 to July 9. The international Wild Rift tournament will be a LAN affair at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore, which has previously hosted the Wild Rift Horizon Cup in 2021. Twenty-four (24) teams from eight regions will vie for the trophy.
Wild Rift Icons 2022 Format
Here’s the tournament format for the Wild Rift Icons 2022.
Play-ins Stage
- 16 teams are split into four groups of 4 teams, with squads from the same region not being assigned to the same group.
- The teams will be drawn into a double-elimination bracket.
- All matches are played in a best-of-three (BO3).
- Top 2 teams from each group advance to Group Stage.
Group Stage
- The 8 teams from the Play-ins will join the 8 regional champions who got seeded directly to the Group Stage. The 16 teams shall be divided into four groups of four teams. Squads from the same region nor in the same Play-ins group shall not be drawn into the same group.
- The teams will be drawn into a double-elimination bracket.
- All matches are played in a best-of-three (BO3).
- Top 2 teams from each group advance to the Knockout Stage.
Knockout Stage
- The Quarterfinals and Semifinals matches will be played in a single-elimination best-of-five (BO5) format.
- The grand finals will be played in a best-of-seven (BO7) format where the winner takes the first world champion title.
