Sibol Mobile Legends team, represented by Blacklist International, has bagged its second gold medal of the 31st Southeast Asian Games after defeating Indonesia, 3-1, in the best-of-five gold medal match on May 20, 2022.
A five-man wipe in the 11th minute of Game 4 gave team Sibol the most coveted gold medal in the competition.
With their victory, the Philippines earned the gold medal in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) tournament. Meanwhile, Indonesia took home the silver medal, and Singapore bagged the bronze after they defeated Malaysia in the bronze medal match.
The victory of the Philippines was a repeat of their win against Indonesia in 2019 when the country hosted the inaugural esports competition of the biennial meet.
Blacklist International are the reigning Mobile Legends world champions, having defeated fellow Filipino team Onic Philippines at the M3 World Championship in December of last year to claim the title.
